     Hershey's Dark Chocolate Cake


This recipe is from the Hershey Chocolate Company.  This is the only one I make because it is the best, a dump cake so easy to throw together.  But better and darker than any other chocolate cake I've found.  

Topped with a cream cheese frosting, it becomes addictive!



1-3/4  C. all-purpose flour

2  C.      sugar

3/4 C.    Hershey's cocoa

1-1/2 t.  baking soda

1-1/2 t.  baking powder

1  t.      salt

2          eggs

1 C.       milk

1/2 C.    vegetable oil

2 t.       vanilla

1 C.       boiling water

Combine dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.  Then add the remaining ingredients except the boiling water.

Beat at medium speed two minutes til all together.

Remove from mixer and stir in the boiling water.  Batter will be thin.

Pour into 2 greased and floured 9" pans or three 8" pans or one 9 x 13" pan.

Bake at 350* for 30 to 35 minutes for layers, 35 to 40 for the larger pan.



My husband loved chocolate cake but could not find one around town to suit him.  So I started baking up recipes for him to test.  And nothing satisfied him. 


Til this one was published by the Hershey Company to advertise their deep dark baking chocolate.  This became  our all-time favorite.
